At Fostair Ltd, we specialise in delivering professional air conditioning solutions, even in the most challenging environments. Our latest project took us to White Cloth Hall in Leeds, a historic building undergoing a complete renovation to become a new food and real ale house.
Previously home to Pizza Express and Brewdog, this respected landmark needed a modern air conditioning system that would be both energy efficient and discreet.
The project involved installing a Samsung VRV air conditioning system across the ground and mezzanine floors. The client required a £65,000 installation, completed over an eight-week period. To meet their needs, we provided:
Ground Floor: Two cassette units and two wall-mounted systems to effectively cool the open-plan area and street food restaurants.
Mezzanine Level: Two wall-mounted systems to ensure a comfortable dining experience.
Given the building’s listed status, extra care was needed to preserve its historic features. All existing equipment was removed and safely disposed of, and new pipework was carefully hidden within the building’s structure.
One of the main challenges was the restriction on exterior modifications. Since no equipment could be mounted on the building’s exterior walls, the outdoor unit had to be internally mounted. This required a custom ductwork installation to manage air discharge efficiently whilst maintaining the integrity of the structure.
Our Air Conditioning Engineers worked meticulously to make sure all new unit and pipework installations blended seamlessly within the building’s internal structure. By planning thoroughly and coordinating closely with renovation teams, we successfully completed the air conditioning installation on time and with zero issues.
At Fostair Ltd, we thrive on delivering tailored climate control solutions, even in the most complex settings. This project at White Cloth Hall demonstrates our ability to adapt and innovate, providing a comfortable and pleasant environment for future patrons.
